The Indifferent Topologies project is a topological investigation into the space-in-itself, purified of its subjective dimension. The architectural environment is treated here as a mode of existence without a centre, where objects are liberated from the function of being a space-for-us.
My focus is directed at the indifferent surface as a material given. I deploy strict visual reduction to transform urban fragments—concrete, metal, synthetic coatings—into impenetrable, autonomous structures. Objects are framed not as elements of a landscape, but as fragments of matter whose texture and geometry constitute the essential information.
Light and shadow function as primary agents. Utilizing low-key lighting and sharp contrast, I emphasize the tactile coldness and hermetic quality of these surfaces. Human presence in these works is relegated to an error or a fleeting trace, which merely signifies systemic alienation.
Photography in this series operates not as a window or a representation, but as a frame that assumes the materiality of the strange. Indifferent Topologies invites the viewer to encounter a topology that subsists in its strict and uncomfortable order.
